Good morning, Hive-ians! 😊  I started this week by making a triple decker cake to celebrate my handsome husband’s birthday. 😊  I made him his requested birthday supper of T-bone steak and a mixture of store-bought potatoes with the last of our vegetables from last years harvest. 😊  We had some crazy winds up here this past week, but the hatchlings didn’t let that stop them from enjoying their time in the herb garden. 😊  This year we are attempting to grow asparagus, so far, we’ve seen three of the eight we planted come up, it’s quite exciting, at least for us. 😊  The second asparagus. If anyone has tips on growing/harvesting/cooking, please share in the comments below. 😊  Here’s our third Asparagus. I find it funny that they’re at different growth stages when they were planted at the same time. 😊  It’s been a busy cooking/baking week here, not sure why, but just felt the need to get a bunch of snacks made up, like these cinnamon crunch tortilla chips, that I made for my handsome husband. 😊  Here’s the hickory barbecue flavour I made for myself. 😊  Our pretty Pansy (foreground) and Dot (background) watching our bull from the herb garden area. 😊  We call his little lady H&T, (short for Head and Tail,) hanging out on my handsome husband while she helps herself to a snack. 😊  Rebel and Duo on the hunt in the herb garden. 😊  Our first planting of peas started to come up this week. 😊  I can’t believe how many blooms our Bleeding-Heart plant has on it this year. 😊  When we brought it home it only grew three or four blossoms between six or seven branches that were all small, but these ones range from small to huge and they’re everywhere. This year I’m going to see if I can find a different coloured one to go with next to it, either the white or bright red ones, not sure yet, depends on availability, I guess. 😊  Our handsome bull Prince Lee wanted a close-up. LOL! 😊  H&T talking to my handsome husband. 😊  This is my favourite picture of H&T from this week, it looks like she’s laughing, to me, in this one. 😊  This weekends bread design. 😊  I made a half dozen chocolate muffins/cupcakes and by the time I had them all iced there were only four left. 😊  Good thing I also made a chocolate cake to get us through the weekend because the cupcakes didn’t make it. LOL! 😊  The apple trees are all blooming up and looking pretty this week too. 😊  Our meal of the weekend was Shepherd’s Pie, yum. 😊  We like having bread and buns on weekends and these are this weekends buns. 😊  I was taking a picture of Floyd and his Pheasant colours when Rebel decided to photo bomb the shot. 😊  I love Pansy’s little mohawk and pantaloons, she’s adorable. 😊  The hatchlings and their brooder box will be moving out to the barn this week; it’s going to be so weird to not hear their little chirps and tweets in the basement anymore, but they’re big enough that they can keep warm out in the barn as easily as they can in our basement, so it’s time for them to head to the barn and learn how to interact with the rest of the flock. 😊  Some of our stunning sunset colours this week. 😊  Today is going to be a busy day for both my handsome husband and me. He gets to plant these and our other peppers, onions, and tomatoes outside and I’ll be inside catching up on the laundry, dishes, vacuuming and dusting our bedroom. I pick one room a week and give it a thorough spring cleaning, last week was the living room, and this week its out room, yay! 😊  These are the other batch of peppers he’ll be planting today. 😊  This is our first year growing Roma Tomatoes and they seem to be doing well, so far. 😊  If all these yellow onions and all the purple ones we’ve already planted make it to harvest, we should have enough to get us through to next season, I think. We do like our onions here and use them every single day, so we’ll see and if they don’t, we’ll know to grow even more next year. 😊  The celery has been enjoying its acclimatization this week. 😊  A couple of years ago we had a drought that nearly emptied our pond completely and we were sure we’d lost all our Goldfish, but as you can see, we were wrong, the pond refilled and has a huge Goldfish and frog population in it right now. 😊  Just like with the Goldfish, our frog population varies in colour and size as well, from this small green and brown frog. 😊  To this bigger green and brown one. 😊  This frog was watching me take pictures of the other two, so I snapped their picture as well. 😊  You can’t see them well in pictures, but there are tiny little peach Goldfish and itty-bitty black Goldfish in the pond with these bigger orange and orange and black Goldfish. 😊  Here’s a better shot of the baby Goldfish and their varying colours. 😊  Last night’s sunset was gorgeous, the hues of orange, yellow, and pink were breathtaking. 😊  The apple trees are full of blossoms and that means we’ll have a very happy bull once those blooms become apples. 😊  When we first put Goldfish in our pond, we only had the orange ones, but as years went by, we eventually added a couple Goldfish that had a small black stripe on their orange backs, and they turned into these over the past few years. I think that’s kind of nifty, we never know what colouring we’ll see out there, but we’re always happy to see them. It’ll be nice once we have a sitting area over by the pond and we can just watch them living their best lives in our pond. 😊  Well, that was how things have been going for us here.
