I know the majority of the people don't like storms and I can't blame em but I am really excited over a long time now that something big is coming. It's not like a hurricane coming, here never is in this area but the current forecast is certain enough that hurricanes force wind gusts are coming to the shores of Estonia.  The photo is from 2018. Its been so long when Estonia saw a strong cyclone. The cyclone is named Xander and tomorrow the center moves over southern Finland, this brings us the strongest winds of the storm. A second-degree warning has been issued for all Estonia though the hardest-hit areas will be western islands, northwest( where I live ) and north Estonia. A second-degree warning means that the weather will be dangerous and people are advised to stay indoors, trees will fall and there will be damage, also loss of electricity. Most of Estonia will see wind gusts up to 25 m/s and coastal areas where I live will see 30 m/s winds even more on the sea. As I read the ship traffic will be also stopped between islands and Finland. The storm surge is also expected to rise up to a critical level but will probably not flood cities due to change in wind direction later in the Evening. Nevertheless, coastal cliff I often visit will be eroded to shit. Pic from 2018.  For me, I will intentionally put myself to danger and visit beaches during the roughest time. The sad part is that the wind is strongest at the time when its dark so not much chance I will get good photo material. So we will see what's going to happen tomorrow, how strong the wind is, will there be any damage. Hopefully not loss of life like the last strong storm. Wind gust forecast for tomorrow at 7 PM.
