All you need is any wallet where you're money's coming from (Gcash, Maya, Online Banking) and Coins.ph. Since you're on Hive, both Hive Keychain and Hive Engine should be familiar to you!  😍 (I use Keychain in this tut)

A little bit of a backstory... (just this one paragraph  👇 )

I have used this method to withdraw my Hive funds to my Maya wallet a couple of years ago. Ever since Maya  [been having problems with their crypto features](https://www.reddit.com/r/DigitalbanksPh/comments/1kafetx/why_the_hell_is_maya_cryptos_deposit_and_withdraw/), I basically stopped doing transactions with my Hive account until now.

**I felt that I needed to top my wallet up, so here goes!**

# There's not a lot of posts on this so I'll add to the few.
Since I didn't know any other way to do this, I first tried to Google it. [I stumbled into this post](https://peakd.com/hive-173575/@rzc24-nftbbg/the-long-process-in-buying-dollarhive) from last year, and I realized how tedious it was for a lot of us to do transactions with Coins.ph!

In this post, I used basically the same method I did with Maya, except that this time I did it with Coins.ph for the first time. It is a pleasure for me to be able to walk you through my first Hive purchase using Coins.ph.

# The 5-Minute Process
The entire process took only five minutes for me, **except for the transfer from Coins to Hive, which was something out of my control** since crypto network confirmation time varies. 

 💡 The transfer was marked successful on Coins for exactly 30 minutes but did not reflect on Hive until another 5 minutes later.

Let me break down the process:

1. Send Gcash funds to Coins
2. Coins PH to Dogecoin (or any crypto)
3. Doge to Hive Doge wallet (swap.doge)
4. Swap.doge to Hive

# Step 1: Create Your Crypto Wallet on Hive

Technically, this "crypto wallet" is just a container for your swap tokens. These swap tokens will hold your crypto balance. Aside from the fees and currency rates, it doesn't matter too much what crypto you choose as long as it's available on Coins.PH

The safest would be swap.BTC because we're 100% sure the mother of cryptocurrencies would be on Coins. In this tutorial, I use DOGE and **will mention swap.DOGE or DOGE the whole time** (you may change this to your coin of choice)

There are many swap tokens to choose from on Hive. There's swap.BTC, swap.ETH, swap.LTC and other popular coins. Don't overthink this step!

**How to:**

1. Click on "Deposit" on Hive Engine
2. Choose the cryptocurrency in the list of options. This will open the swap wallet for that account.
3. Grab the wallet address

# Step 2: Top of Your Coins PH with GCash and Buy Crypto

This is very straightforward. All you have to do is top up your Coins.ph account with GCash using bank transfer. 

**How to:**

1. For Gcash, tap on **"Bank Transfer"** >**Search for "Coins"** and type your name and Coins PH phone number
2. Search for "Dogecoin or DOGE" in the list of crypto and tap "Buy"

# Step 3: Send Coins to your Hive Wallet

Easily the most exciting part!

**How to:**
1. Click on the "Portfolio Tab" on Coins
2. Select "Withdraw" > To External Wallet > DOGE
3. Paste the wallet address you copied earlier from the Hive Engine
4. Step 4: Convert Your Swap to Hive
5. Go to Hive Keychain (or on Hive Engine's wallet for conversion, whichever you prefer)
6. Click on "Swap"
7. Choose swap.DOGE and convert to swap.HIVE
8. Repeat the process but this time convert swap.HIVE to HIVE
