**Heavy Weapon Deluxe** is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up video game developed by PopCap Games and was released in 2005. **Deluxe** is the full version of the limited free version ***Heavy Weapon: Atomic Tank*** which can be downloaded online at various websites, including PopCap's own site. 

**Heavy Weapon Deluxe** was released on the steam platform on August 2006 and can be purchased at P165.95 or around $3.5.

### Gameplay:
The mechanics of the game is pretty simple. You are in control of one specific tank and will use that tank to defeat enemy forces along the way, with an enemy boss at the end of every level. The tank can only move left and right and will automatically move forward as you defeat and successfully dodge enemy bullets and weapons. All movements are done via the mouse and will only shoot in the direction of the current location of the mouse pointer.

There are two modes in the game. **Mission** and **Survival**. The **mission** mode have a total of 19 levels each with progressing difficulty. Like any shoot em up video game, the player is given 3 lives unless a bonus life is dropped. The **survival** mode have a never-ending wave of enemy forces going after your tank as you try your very best to  survive as long as you can.

After defeating the enemy boss at the end of the level in mission mode, the player is  given 1 point to which he can use to upgrade his tank. Depending on the players strategy and the mission level, the player can add or remove those points to add "homing missiles", "flak cannons", or upgrade the tank's shield so that it can withstand minor bullets.

### Thoughts
**Heavy Weapon Deluxe** is by far one of the most thrilling, exciting and the most challenging shoot 'em up video game I have ever played. Using only the mouse to both move the tank and control the shooting direction at the same time is kind of challenging to do, especially when there are enemy forces all around you. 

The game starts off as somewhat easy to beat. But as you progress further and further, it exponentially becomes challenging and thus exciting. Bulldozers are added on the land and enemy forces now use small and somewhat camouflaging bullets which greatly adds to the difficulty in the game.

Overall, this game is one of the best game to kill some time. Despite the too much simplistic graphics, it is very addictive. Great focus and attention must be done in the game or you won't survive far enough. If you are bored on playing those MMORPGS, and want some exciting and thrilling game to kill some time to, then you should try **Heavy Weapon Deluxe**.
