Let's see what Proverbs 29:11 says: https://img.leopedia.io/DQmU75faLtVX3g1hXbxa1nMwL1nYEKAXrf3meEAL7Lcs3Dn/dgbhr.png I know a few times in the past, I've gone to another translation of the bible to give readers a better understanding. However for this one, I think we can stick with the good ol' King James Version because well....It nails it! Want to know why I think I can speak on this verse? Because if you follow me on InLEO Threads, you would have seen yours truly...Failing at this piece of wisdom from our friend King Solomon. A few days ago I was stressed. Life gets to you after all, and instead of keeping in my frustrations and giving it all to God, I decided to whine and complain on Threads. **It was a classic case of woe is me!** But what does Scripture tell us to do when it comes to airing dirty laundry or feeling bad for ourselves....Keep it to...**Ourselves**. This verse shows us that the foolish are the ones that open their traps and start playing the world's smallest violin. Maybe we are looking for sympathy. Maybe looking for a hand out. Maybe looking for someone to give us an answer to our problems. But here's the thing.... People have their own problems they are dealing with. And how does that popular saying go? Most people ignore you when you are complaining about life and the rest of them are just glad it's not them going through it. Or something like that.... The nugget in this bit of Scripture is two fold. One, keep your complaints to yourself and the second, give it to God. The second part of the verse says '*keepeth it in till afterwards*' which can be translated this way as well...'*A wise man holds it back*'. Heh, I still like the King James Version for this verse :) Emotional restraint, as the graphic reads to us, is perfect for this. Sometimes we get too emotional for our own good, and at those times it's always best to give it to God. I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to talk to someone you trust when you are hurting. That's much needed. And of course, we are to talk everything to God. But in a world where everyone wants to be the center of the universe, maybe when it comes to keeping our problems to ourselves, we can learn a lot of Proverbs 29:11... **How do you guys interpret this Scripture?** Posted Using [INLEO](https://inleo.io/@jongolson/no-one-cares-jbo)
