Have you ever thought of going back to the past and rectifying your mistakes? Have you ever thought of erasing all that you have done and starting all over again? From the scratch? As humans, we are bound to make mistakes. In my opinion, our mistakes are what makes us human. Even though we are bound to make mistakes and that we also learn from our mistakes, there are times where we wish we could go back to the past and stop or rectify things. How do you feel when you’re unable to achieve a certain goal just because you lack some skills that you would have learnt when you were younger? I’m sure the feeling that purges inside of you at that time would be that of regret. Several questions keep running in your head; why didn’t I buy that land when I was 20. Why didn’t I accept the deal 6 years ago, these are the type of questions that would run in our heads. I’m sure if time travel was real and we had the opportunity to travel back in time, we would make better decisions. 

**IF I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO REDUCE MY AGE (BECOME YOUNGER THAN I AM AT THE MOMENT) WOULD I DO IT?**

Oh, yes! I would grab that opportunity with my hands. It is a golden opportunity and I would grab it with my two hands widely open. If I had the opportunity to reduce my age, I would gladly reduce it to a reasonable age where I would be able to learn and achieve so many things. 

Let me break this down. The truth is, I have experience in different fields. I have once worked as a gym secretary in a big and well equipped gym, I have also worked as a secretary in a saloon. I worked as a school teacher in an elementary school right after I graduated from high school. I know a lot about agriculture. I have a small garden of my own where I plant and harvest different plants. I rear poultry animals. It’s really big. Writing has also been a part of me since I was little. I wrote my first book when I was 10 years old. 

I’m 20 years old ( I know, I know. I’m so young, right?), with all these experiences, one would say I'm a complete package and that I’m doing well as a teenager. Is that what you also think? Well, the truth is, I don’t feel that way. I feel a part of me is missing. A part that needs filing. I feel I should know more and have more experiences than I have now. I know, it is kind of complicated and you’d think I’m being silly, but if you take your time, sit back and think deeply, you’d discover that there’s sense in what I’m saying. 

If I had the opportunity to reduce my age; to become younger than I am at the moment, there are thousands of things I’d do with this golden opportunity. 

**WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THESE GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY**

**Explore and learn how to make friends**
Growing up, my parents trained me to always stay indoors. I actually do not blame them. I grew up in an environment where it was risky for a child to play outside. I grew up indoors, my neighbors and TV characters were my friends. I clinged to tv characters like they were my “real friends” and that is probably why I have a perfect/clear imagination. I had no problem making friends in high school, but I feel I just didn’t explore enough. Of course, I had friends in high school, but I was only close with a few of them. I wish I had made friends with so many people. 

I used to envy my high school friends when they talked about excursions. “I have visited this waterfall” they say things like this, and all I do is just sit and say “oh, yeah? Tell me about it, I have never been there”. Is it surprising that I never went on any excursions throughout my primary and secondary years? 

My parents were just too over-protective. My mom didn’t want to send her last child to a place where she wouldn’t be able to take care of him. She was being a good parent. But now that I think about it, I feel she should’ve allowed me to explore. It would’ve helped my social skills. It is not too late and that is why I’m trying to fix things, I just wish I could go back to the past and fix things. 

**LEARN HOW TO PLAY A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT**

Another thing I would do with the golden opportunity is to learn how to play a musical instrument. I don’t know how to sing, I don’t have a very good voice and I’m not ready to train myself to be a better singer. The thing is, I wish I knew how to play a musical instrument. A piano? Guitar? Talking drum? Saxophone? Anyone. I wish my parents or siblings had taught me or enrolled me in a class where I would’ve learnt how to play at least one musical instrument. 

I can’t describe how I feel when I see people play musical instruments, especially those that play the Violin. If I had the opportunity to go back in time, I would learn how to play at least 1 musical instrument. 

**LEARN HOW TO HOST A SHOW**

As I wrote earlier, there are thousands of things that I’d do if I was given the golden opportunity. Learning how to host a show is one of the things I’d do. Starting something at an early age is the best approach. I know it is not too late to learn how to host a show, I just wish I had started when I was very young. I have never thought of becoming a TV host, but who knows what the future holds? I just want to equip myself with different skills. 

**EQUIP MYSELF WITH DIFFERENT SKILLS**

A lot of my schoolmates are skilled in different aspects. Some of them are tailors, barbers, engineers, chefs and more. They make a living from these things. One of my hostel mates is a professional hair stylist. She doesn’t depend on her parents or anyone to buy things. How nice is this? 

There are other things I’d love to do like; learn how to code, learn how to dance, focus on art, learn how to score songs, learn how to animate, watch more movies and do so many other things.
