Big time autumn!
And as the sky went dark in the evening and I was riding my bike home from work, I wasn't entirely sure that what was falling out of the sky was either rain or if it was sleet. It didn't make the coat wet enough to be bothered in any kind of way.

What I *did* know was that I was way too underdressed for this bike trip and my nose and my hands were feeling the consequences out of my previous choices.

Autumn is always a bit weird in the Netherlands. When the sun is out and it is 'just' cold, those days are just truly the best to walk outside and see the colors of nature taking over by the day and changing every time as you pass by.

I mean come on...who would *not* want to walk in the woods when they are looking like this

Even when it is almost freezing, the days are still super chill to hang outside and maybe even clear some stuff out in the garden. Thick coat on, nothing fancy but still ready to rumble!

But in the evenings when it is dark at 17.00 and the sun rises at 7.00, I mean that is a long period of time where sometimes the wind can be howling.

## Just leave

The beauty of the color changing on the leaves in the tree slowly turns over to the leaves shinkling and dropping down, leaving a cover of multi color over the ever greens which we keep seeking so much.

Fun fact in the Netherlands that might not be such an accurate topic in other parts of the world. Biking over wet leaves and taking a corner is the most dangerous thing there is if you want to slide and tumble. (watch out with those ones!)

I mean, look at the cover here in the snap below and imagine crossing over this with your bike. Literally *anything* can be under there.

Grass or road under this, you tell me

The dog likes running around in the piles of course as a dog does. Even better, with the temperatures dropping to zero, you can really see the dog living his best life again and running outside like there is no tomorrow.

I guess you can truly see that his breed was coming from the cold mountains as he adapts so well to this season.

 ## Shrooms?

I haven't seen a lot of mushrooms grow in the wild over the last couple of weeks while walking outside. Where normally I would see a lot of the white and grey ones but hardly ever the red with white dotted ones, this year I have seen a lot of these orange spots growing in the wild.

They are called the *Calocera viscosa* according to [Wikipedia](https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kleverig_koraalzwammetje) and this is actually the first year that I have ever seen them.

You can't really miss them with this kind of super bright color between the rest of the brown and leafy stuff.

Normally I really dislike autumn as it means it is time to curl up inside more and I just like being outside. But this year it hasn't been that wet outside which means it was still decent and I was still doing everything by bike until this week when it got a little colder.

Maybe...just maybe.... maybe I am starting to like autumn? (nehhhhh, that ain't possible ;) )
