Ah, no! I was doing so good. I’ve slipped to the late hours of the night. I love full days and that’s exactly what this was. I tend to only sleep four or five hours a night. Not good for my health, I’m sure, but there are fewer and fewer available hours to fit in everything I need to get to. Less drawing today, but a great @mirrorpool meeting with @swarddraws. Kickboxing was awesome […really challenging and I’m feeling it], and then late night at @caffetto working on these edits for tonight’s Hive post. I did fit some 3D printing in to this cacophony as well. https://images.hive.blog/DQmSEqdxeqNKX2FBp7wFEMfMqZsK5SYbmTaFF57apsdFkvH/cooper001.jpg During my dark pinup shoot event last weekend here in Minneapolis, Farah from Lovely Organic Apothecary, Moustache Jim and I met at 300 Clifton for a long night of creative collaboration with six clients. One of those clients was Minneapolis LGBTQ model, Coup Deville. We know and love him as Cooper. From the title of this blog post, “Something different!”, you may be thinking that I meant that I photographed a man. Not so, actually. I do shoot men occasionally. Cooper was far too desaturated when processing, or the sheets were way to vibrant. That lead me in to some weird approaches using color manipulation to come up with this soft, cotton candy pink photo. I love it! It was something of an experiment, that turned out effective, and after 20 years of shooting, most clients hire me for exactly what I’m known for. He was an outstanding model and the dramatic theatrics throughout the endless rooms of 300 Clifton gave me an embarrassment of riches as far as images worth of making it to a final edit. For now, I have to retire. I’m starting to stiffen up from tonight’s work out. I need some heat on these shoulder and back muscles because I have a chiropractic appointment in the afternoon after I get @guthrie to school. Have a great night!
