Went for a long walk in the Vermont woods, was light rain, but still a morning well spent. Some interesting sights along the way.  Leaves still on the ground covering the ATV trail. This boulder an interesting find.  This huge tree had fallen. Not sure the cause.  My initial thought was lightning strike, but couldn't find burn marks. Seemed like a strange place for it to just break over. Lots of green still so not like it was dead and rotten.  Found this torn up tree, initially thought it was maybe bears scratching it up from a distance, but closer inspection seems to just be woodpeckers.  And looks like the coyotes left a portion of the deer bones laying about.  Finally also found a Pin that marks one of the lot corners of the property where it joins against a neighboring property that has 800 acres. Almost hidden next to an old tree, but barely spotted it.  I searched it up and discovered it was placed 11 years ago during a mapping survey. You can also see the ancient barb wire that was part of the original property line fence. I just love these hikes, listening to the woods. Very relaxing and recharging for me after a long week. Hope you enjoyed walking with me!
