<center></center><center><sub>**Cover Image**: Splinterlands Logo image owned by @splinterlands - Edit by @libertycrypto27 - Fonts used are Open Source</sub></center> *** <center><sub>*** La versione in italiano è subito dopo la versione in inglese - The Italian version is immediately after the English version***</sub></center> <center></center> # <center>DEC-B: What Are, How to Buy, Why to Buy and Lands Use Cases</center> <center></center> <div class="text-justify"> On **April 9, 2023** at **18:00 GMT**, the sale of **DEC-B** (**DEC Batteries**) will end. <center></center> On Discord and in comments to my previous posts I have often received the following questions: **What are DEC-B?** **Why buy DEC-B?** **How to buy DEC-Bs?** In today's post I will answer these three questions and show the use cases of DEC-B and also do some calculations to show the most cost-effective way to buy DEC-B. <center></center> ## <center>What are DEC-B tokens?</center> <center></center> The **DEC Batteries** (DEC-B) are the **non-transferable and non-saleable version of the DEC tokens**. The **DEC Batteries** (DEC-B) are the **non-transferable and non-saleable version of the DEC tokens**. Practically, DEC-B tokens are the Souldound version of DEC tokens, and like the Soulbound Reward Cards that can be used in the game but cannot be sold or transferred, DEC-B tokens can only be used as payment for **special purchases** or to participate in certain **promotions** in the Splinterlands **Shop**. <center></center> <center></center> ## <center>Why buy DEC-B tokens?</center> <center></center> If DEC-B tokens cannot be transferred or sold why would a player buy them instead of using DEC tokens directly? The answer to the previous question is simple: **convenience**! **DEC-B tokens have the same purchasing power of DEC tokens (in allowed cases of purchase) but cost 20% less**. <center></center> This means that if DEC tokens and DEC-B tokens can be used for a purchase **it is always preferable to use DEC-B tokens instead of DEC tokens**. <center></center> ## <center>How to purchase DEC-B tokens</center> <center></center> DEC-B tokens can be purchased from the **DEC section** of the **Dashboard** of Splinterlands by clicking on **Batteries** in the box on the right as indicated by the numbered arrows in the image below. <center></center> You can use **two payment methods** to purchase DEC-B tokens: - **DEC**: 1 DEC = 1.25 DEC-B - **VOUCHER**: 1 VOUCHER = 200 DEC-B Depending on the market value of VOUCHER tokens, it may be more convenient to use VOUCHER tokens instead of DEC tokens as a payment method to purchase DEC-B tokens. For this reason, I always recommend that you make a preliminary assessment based on the market value of VOUCHER tokens before buying DEC-B tokens. For example, today April 3, 2023: **1 DEC = 0.00203739 HIVE = $0.0008313** **1 VOUCHER = 0.32497227 HIVE = $0.1325887** <center></center> Based on the current market value (Lowest Ask) of DEC tokens and VOUCHER tokens **buying DEC-B tokens with VOUCHER tokens** instead of DEC tokens **is cheaper** even if the difference is small: **-0.0000021$** <center></center> The convenience of using VOUCHER tokens increases as their market value decreases. <center></center> ## <center>Present and Future Use Cases</center> <center></center> At the time of writing this post DEC-B tokens have only one use case: the **purchase of energy points**. In a recent and previous post of mine, I shared some calculations and considerations on the purchase of energy points, which you can read by clicking on the following link. ||Link post: [New Energy System: To buy or not buy the Energy Points? In pratica i DEC-B sono la versione Souldound dei token DEC e come le Soulbound Reward Cards che possono essere utilizzate nel gioco ma non possono essere vendute o trasferite, i token DEC-B possono solo essere utilizzati come pagamento per **speciali acquisti** o per partecipare ad alcune **promozioni** nello **Shop** di Splinterlands. <center></center> <center></center> ## <center>Perchè comprare i DEC-B?</center> <center></center> Se i token DEC-B non possono essere trasferiti o venduti perchè un giocatore dovrebbe comprarli invece di utilizzare direttamente i token DEC? La risposta alla domanda precedente è semplice: **la convenienza**! **I token DEC-B hanno lo stesso potere di acquisto dei DEC (nei casi di acquisto consentiti) ma hanno un costo inferiore del 20%**. <center></center> Questo vuol dire che se per un acquisto è possibile utilizzare i token DEC e i token DEC-B come metodo di pagamento **è sempre preferibile utilizzare i token DEC-B invece dei token DEC**. <center></center> ## <center>Come acquistare i token DEC-B</center> <center></center> I token DEC-B possono essere acquistati dalla **sezione DEC** della **Dashboard** di Splinterlands cliccando su **Batteries** nel riquadro a destra come indicato dalle freccie numerate nell'immagine seguente. <center></center> Per acquistare i token DEC-B è possibile utilizzare **due metodi di pagamento**: - **DEC**: 1 DEC = 1.25 DEC-B - **VOUCHER**: 1 VOUCHER = 200 DEC-B In base al valore di mercato dei token VOUCHER potrebbe essere più conveniente utilizzare i token VOUCHER invece dei token DEC come metodo di pagamento per acquistare i token DEC-B. Per questo motivo ti consiglio sempre di fare una valutazione preliminare basata sul v alore di mercato dei token VOUCHER prima di acquistare i token DEC-B. Ad esempio oggi 3 aprile 2023: **1 DEC = 0.00203739 HIVE = 0.0008313$** **1 VOUCHER = 0.32497227 HIVE = 0.1325887$** <center></center> In base al valore attuale di mercato (Lowest Ask) dei token DEC e dei token VOUCHER **acquistare i token DEC-B con i token VOUCHER** invece che con i token DEC **è più conveniente** anche se la differenza è minima: **-0.0000021$** <center></center> La convenienza dell'utilizzo dei token VOUCHER aumenta con la diminuzione del loro valore di mercato. <center></center> ## <center>Casi D'Uso Presenti e Futuri</center> <center></center> Nel momento in cui scrivo questo post i token DEC-B hanno un solo caso d'uso: l'**acquisto di energy points**.
