<center> <sub> Cover Image: Arcade Colony logo owned by @arcadecolony - Edit by @libertycrypto27 - Fonts used are Open Source</sub>  <sub>La versione in italiano è subito dopo la versione in inglese - The Italian version is immediately after the English version</sub>  # Moon Karts: New Build Released with Very Good Updates! </center> <div class="text-justify"> It is several months that I play and have fun on **[Moonkarts](https://moonkarts.arcadecolony.com/)** which is a **Hive-based arcade race game** that is part of the games featured on the [Arcade Colony](https://arcadecolony.com/) platform. <center></center><center>https://arcadecolony.com/</center> Today, June 25, 2025, a **new build** was released that introduced several **interesting updates**. I like the updates released today because they have the **objective of improving game balance and incentivizing fair play**. Here's what has changed with the new build! <center> ## Dynamic Fuel Cost instead of Fixed. </center> <div class="text-justify"> On Moon Karts, the cost of fuel to run a race in multiplayer mode is given by the sum of the cost in Fuel of each NFT that makes up the Kart Preset.  For example, the **Fuel Consumpion** of the Kart Preset I use in races is = **206.2 FUEL per race**.  Using a Kart Preset consisting of NFTs of lower rarity and level in races allows the Fuel Consumption to be lowered by a lot even though the game stats also worsen. For example, a Kart Preset consisting of only three common and level 1 cards (**Astro Kart + Luna + Engine Refinement**) has a **Fuel Consumption = 2.75**.  With the release of the new build **Fuel Consumption is no longer fixed but is dynamic** because: - **Fuel Cost increases by 10% for every 10 races played in a day and resets to zero at the end of the day**. <center></center> I like this change because: - Casual players will be less penalized on the rewards side than those who have a lot of time and resources - Players who race for many hours a day will have higher and increasing costs in Fuel and because of this they will have to manage their resources more carefully Based on my cost in fuel per race = 260.2 FUEL: - to play **10 daily races** I will incur a **total cost of 2602 FUEL** = 206.2 FUEL per race - to play the **runs 11-20** I will incur a **total cost of 2862.2 FUEL** = 286.22 FUEL per race - to play the **courses 91-100** I will incur a **total cost of 6135.38 FUEL** = 613.54 FUEL per race <center> ## Only 2 Orbitals to earn points for the Orbitals Leaderboard! </center> <div class="text-justify"> Before the release of the new build to earn points for the Orbitals Leaderboard, it was necessary to collect a minimum of 3 Orbitals along the race track.  Now **you only need to collect 2 Orbitals during a race to earn points for the Orbitals Leaderboard**.  I tested this change just today because in a race against player @daddydog **I intentionally collected only 2 orbitals**.  I received **5160 Orbitals points** at the end of the race.  But that's not all because now to earn the maximum points per race you need to collect the maximum number of orbitals on the track during a race = 6 Orbitals. So **to receive the maximum points in a race you need 6 orbitals and the points earned are proportional to the number of orbitals collected during a race!** I, in races with only two players, will continue to follow the strategy I used to follow before: I will collect 3 orbitals per race leaving 3 orbitals for my opponent especially if my opponent is a new player or a player with less resources than mine but I will also be ready to equip my Kart preset with the Moonfire Missile in case I meet stronger players than me who want to collect all the orbitals in the race. <center> ## Updated Ranking Points System! </center> <div class="text-justify"> Before the release of the new build in a race with three players only the first place finisher and the second place finisher gained ranking points while the third place finisher lost ranking points. This mechanism demotivated and disincentivized the player(s) with the least fast karts in a race with more than two players. **Now all players who finish the race earn ranking points:** **1st place: +10 points** **2nd place: +8 points** **3rd place: +5 points** **4th place: +3 points** **5th place: +2 points** **6th place: +1 point** **Who does not finish the race or disconnects: -10 points!** I really like this change because **now the system of assigning ranking points is more inclusive and motivating** and those who abandon the race or disconnect are penalized = more fair play! <center> ## The rearview mirror has been added. </center> <div class="text-justify"> Now **pressing the B button** during a race allows you to use and display the **back view mirror** which will be especially useful and also increase the fun in my opinion.  <center> ## Ban for frequent disconnections and expulsion from the race for inactive players! </center> <div class="text-justify"> In this post I have purposely left for last **the two changes I like best because they are changes that will improve fair play**. In the past there have been players who have practiced some unfair behavior: - there have been players playing with two accounts in the same match: with one active and one inactive - there have been players who disconnected their second account when a third player entered the pre-race queue With **the introduction**: - of the **4-hour ban for frequent disconnections** - of the **ejection from the race for players inactive for more than 30 seconds** - of the **penalty of -10 rating points for those who do not finish the race or disconnect** **will increase and improve fair play and I am really very happy about that!** <center> ## Final Considerations </center> <div class="text-justify"> With the new mechanism of awarding ranking points and orbitals points will most likely also decrease the total scores in the two leaderboards compared to the past because it will be more difficult to achieve the ranking scores and orbitals scores present in the two leaderboards today.   I really like the changes introduced with the release of the new build because they will produce positive effects especially on the fair play and fun side! Mi piacciono gli aggiornamenti rilasciati oggi perchè hanno l'**obiettivo di migliorare gli equilibri di gioco e di incentivare il fair play**. Ecco cosa è cambiato con la nuova build! <center> ## Costo del Carburante Dinamico invece di Fisso </center> <div class="text-justify"> Su Moon Karts il costo del carburante per correre una gara nella modalità multiplayer è dato dalla somma del costo in Fuel di ogni NFT che costituisce il Kart Preset.  Ad esempio il **Fuel Consumpion** del Kart Preset che uso nelle gare è = **206.2 FUEL per corsa**.  Usare in gara un Kart Preset costituito da NFT di rarità e livello inferiore permette di abbassare di molto il Fuel Consumption anche se le statistiche di gioco sono inferiori. Ad esempio un Kart Preset costituito da sole tre carte comuni e di livello 1 (**Astro Kart + Luna + Engine Refinement**) ha un **Fuel Consumption = 2.75**.  Con il rilascio della nuova build **il Fuel Consumption non è più fisso ma è dinamico** perchè: - **Il costo del carburante aumenta del 10% ogni 10 gare giocate in un giorno e si azzera a fine giornata**. <center></center> Mi piace questa modifica perchè: - I giocatori occasionali saranno meno penalizzati lato rewards rispetto a chi ha tanto tempo e molte risorse - I giocatori che corrono per molte ore al giorno avranno costi in Fuel maggiori e crescenti e per questo motivo dovranno gestire con più attenzione le risorse a disposizione In base al mio costo in fuel per gara = 260.2 FUEL: - per giocare **10 corse giornaliere** dovrò sostenere un **costo totale di 2602 FUEL** = 206.2 FUEL per gara - per giocare le **corse 11-20** dovrò sostenere un **costo totale di 2862.2 FUEL** = 286.22 FUEL per gara - per giocare le **corse 91-100** dovrò sostenere un **costo totale di 6135.38 FUEL** = 613.54 FUEL per gara <center> ## Solo 2 Orbitals per guadagnare punti per la Orbitals Leaderboard! </center> <div class="text-justify"> Prima del rilascio della nuova build per guadagnare punti per la Orbitals Leaderboard era necessario raccogliere un minimo di 3 Orbitals lungo il tracciato della corsa.  Adesso **è sufficiente raccogliere 2 Orbitals durante una gara per guadagnare punti per la Orbitals Leaderboard**.  Ho testato questa modifica proprio oggi perchè in una corsa contro il giocatore @daddydog **ho volutamente raccolto solo 2 orbitals**.  Ho ricevuto **5160 Orbitals points** alla fine della corsa.  Ma non è tutto perchè adesso per guadagnare il massimo dei punti per gara è necessario raccogliere il massimo degli orbitals presenti sul tracciato durante una gara e cioè 6. Quindi **per ricevere il massimo di punti in una gara servono 6 orbitals e i punti guadagnabili sono proporzionali al numero di orbitals raccolti durante una gara!** Io, nelle corse con soli due giocatori, continuerò a seguire la strategia che seguivo prima: raccoglierò 3 orbitals per gara lasciando 3 orbitals al mio avversario soprattutto se il mio avversario sarà un nuovo giocatore o un giocatore con meno risorse delle mie ma sarò anche pronto ad equipaggiare il mio Kart preset con il Moonfire Missile nel caso incontrerò giocatori più forti di me che vorranno raccogliere tutti gli orbitals nella gara. Anche questa modifica mi piace perchè: - rende più accessibili le ricompense della Orbitals Leaderboard. - amplia le dinamiche e le strategie durante una corsa perchè le scelte dei giocatori potranno essere diverse e meno prevedibili rispetto al passato. <center> ## Punti Rating aggiornati </center> <div class="text-justify"> Prima del rilascio della nuova build in una corsa con tre giocatori solo il primo classificato e il secondo classificato guadagnavano punti di ranking mentre il terzo giocatore classificato perdeva dei punti di ranking. Questo meccanismo demotivava e disincentivava il giocatore/i giocatori con i kart meno veloci in una gara con più di due giocatori. **Adesso tutti i giocatori che finiscono la gara guadagnano punti di ranking:** **1° posto: +10 punti** **2° posto: +8 punti** **3° posto: +5 punti** **4° posto: +3 punti** **5° posto: +2 punti** **6° posto: +1 punto** **Chi non termina la gara o si disconnette: -10 punti!** Mi piace molto questa modifica perchè **adesso il sistema dell'assegnazione dei punti di ranking è più inclusivo e motivante** e chi abbandona la corsa o si disconnette viene penalizzato = maggiore fair play! <center> ## E' stato aggiunto lo specchietto retrovisore </center> <div class="text-justify"> Adesso **la pressione del tasto B** durante una gara permette di utilizzare e visualizzare lo **specchietto retrovisore** che sarà particolarmente utile e aumenterà anche il divertimento secondo me.  <center> ## Ban per disconnessioni frequenti e espulsione dalla gara per i giocatori inattivi! </center> <div class="text-justify"> Ho volutamente lasciato per ultime **le due modifiche che mi piacciono di più perchè sono modifiche che miglioreranno il fair play**. In passato ci sono stati giocatori che hanno messo in pratica dei comportamenti poco corretti: - ci sono stati giocatori che giocavano con due accounts nella stessa gara: uno attivo e uno non attivo - ci sono stati giocatori che disconnettevano il secondo account quando entrava un terzo giocatore nella coda pre-corsa Con **l'introduzione**: - del **ban di 4 ore per disconnessioni frequenti** - dell'**espulsione dalla gara per i giocatori inattivi per più di 30 secondi** - della **penalizzazione di -10 punti di rating per chi non termina la gara o si disconnette** **aumenterà e migliorerà il fair play e sono davvero molto contento di questo!** <center> ## Considerazioni Finali </center> <div class="text-justify"> Con il nuovo meccanismo di attribuzione dei punti di ranking e dei punti orbitals con molta probabilità diminuiranno anche i punteggi totali nelle due leaderboards perchè sarà più difficile raggiungere i punteggi di ranking e i punteggi orbitals presenti oggi nelle due leaderboards.   Mi piacciono molto le modifiche introdotte con il rilascio della nuova build perchè produrranno effetti positivi soprattutto lato fair play e lato divertimento! Anche la distribuzione delle rewards dovrebbe subire degli effetti positivi e soprattutto per i nuovi giocatori e per i giocatori occasionali.
