There was a time it never crossed my mind that there could be something like "too many children", we were taught that children are gifts from GOD. Our neighbor back then had about 13 children, it surprised me how she was able to control them back then and was even able to not confuse their names, smiles, then, watching them was like watching a movie, it was always drama, chaos and shouts. The thing is as much as we love children and would love to have plenty of them around, there's more to raising them, we need enough resources to be able to care and nurture this children. And in a country like mine, those resources are shrinking every day. Last time I checked, the world population has surpassed eight billion and the economy is not a stable one as well, and with the way things ate presently, if the government could step in, it would be a good one, those with two children now even find it hard to feed not to talk of those with six, seven....children. If the government can step in and say everyone should just have a maximum of three children each, even with that, they would still provide incentives, three children plus incentives. A country like Nigeria, we can't help but hope for something as such, but lets imagine first, imagine if the government were to offer supports like free education, food subsidies, housing aid, subsidized healthcare and all, all on the condition that the citizens had no more than three children. Its not a joke, gone are the days where they use childbearing as competition. Its a different world today, things as changed, having many children in today’s world isn’t just a personal decision anymore, it’s a global one. This might sound harsh, but it's the reality...every extra child means more mouths to feed, more schools to build, more water to share, more climate pressure, and more strain on an already stressed economy. Would you rather have two to three children you can send to good schools, feed well, and raise with proper attention, or have seven children who have to grow up fighting for survival. That question hits differently when you’ve seen young hungry children hawking on the streets or when you hear that a sister has to step down for her brother to attend school. I so much agree with controlling childbearings, the earth is getting crowded, there's unemployment in our world today and a whole lot of things, all these things sums up back to population growth. It's not too late to start thinking and planning long-term, if the government regulate childbirth and provides incentives for the smaller families, we might actually be giving the next generation a chance to live in a more balanced world. To do this, the government should take their time to educate the masses, there should be awareness, they should make the people understand why, and should also create systems that reward intentional parenthood, while also removing the economic pressure that makes many see children as retirement plans or labor sources, as many see children as such, they need more hands to help on the farm and all. The problem the world is having us much, so that alone won't solve the worlds problem, but it's a step, it's one of the important issues that needs needs to be addressed. We shouldn't believe the world will keep on having romm for everyone, a time might come that the world will run out of space, and it would be our fault, there's still time to make a change so that our unborn kids, generations to come will appreciate us. **Both picture's are generated using AI.** *Thanks for taking your time to read through, kindly do well to drop your response/opinion, while visiting my blog for more exclusive content.* Posted Using [INLEO](https://inleo.io/@marsdave/blessing-or-burden-the-true-cost-of-overpopulation-nw)
