I felt a tiny bit of personal attack with this prompt but I also realized I'm not the only one on this table. The world has changed a lot since the invention of phones, computers and internet. Not even slowly, the world haa began to rely on these devices on a daily basis and it's no news that we have phone addicts everywhere but not everyone.

Someone said *"We should use our phones, not our phones using us"* and I take it that once we are using our phones at a time we should be busy doing something more productive or even relaxing out brains, that is an abuse that over time can become an addiction. I'm guilty of using my phone in wrong ways sometimes but not all.

Years ago, I would say I had no control over how I use my mobile phone especially when I first got it. The excitement of chatting with people from far away, growing profiles and playing games on my phone made it quite impossible to not become an addict. But I've come to understand that time happens and things changes, I grew up.

There was a time I can't drop my phone until I'm done with a particular movie I'm seeing, I forget that I can continue the movie another time and just deprive myself of all I need to do especially resting at night and I just focus on the screen putting a threat to the health of my eyes and body system. But now, it is not like that anymore.

I've come to understand the risk I'm taking when I spend most of my time on my mobile phones and I've been trying to minimize it, this is a sign for me that it isn't an addiction yet. Without my phone, it would be difficult for me to get things done to earn money as I have to rely on my phones for my daily expenses and future plans.

For people who work from home and need the phone to communicate for things to happen, can use the phone without getting addicted and everything goes down to discipline. I can't say I have a 100% discipline on how I use my mobile devices but it's a lot better than I use it before, and it's something I'm still working to improve.

Honestly, a lot of us are losing control over our reliance on our mobile phones but for us, who have to rely on our phones for necessary reasons, we only need to be mindful of when we are not productive with it and keep it aside to let our system rest and develop fine without the screens. This will help us in very healthy ways.

So to answer the question, *can I go an hour or two hours without my phone?* No, if I am being honest except I'm sleeping. Most of what I do daily is on my phone but what I do is minimize it's use on days I have to spend time with people or in church service. It's still a work in progress but it's something wrong and needs to be disciplined.

It is a concerning issue that we are relying more on our phones but instead of wishing to go back to the times we didn't have to rely on phones which is impossible, we should be more aware on how to discipline the use of our mobile phones to avoid it controlling us but instead, using it for our benefits alone - physical and mental health wise.
