Things I Have Done To Earn Before Hive
<div  class=text-justify>

I was reading through some articles on a research, I came across one about a lady giving count of the jobs she has done before her dream job. It was an interesting read for me as I saw how she journeyed her way to what she really want to do for a living. It's even more fascinating that all her previous works had no connection to what her dream job is but she kept the focus and attained the height she wanted.

You know this feeling?
***When you feel internal peace and have fun with your job after many other jobs even though they paid well.***

She kept emphasising on that fact that she realized she had not been happy in all the other jobs as the one she is doing at the moment, her dream job. It doesn't pay the highest but it definitely pays her more than money (*her peace of mind and fun*)

They say, it's best to ***"Work to live"*** and ***"Enjoy what you do"***, I think that's the essence of working so putting your choice and well being in mind when you decide to work is important.

Inspired by that article I read, I'm made to think back to all my previous activities with the aim of earning. Luckily for me, my parents didn't give me reason to work early or work too hard but when I decided to do something for myself just to have the experience, I started by learning a skill and that was being a computer literate.

***I failed in learning one more skill - hair making***

Since my mum and sister had this skill gifted to them, I thought I'd need to learn mine. I learnt some but I figured it wasn't something I really wanted to do so I focused more on being better with computers and that led me to **my very first job**.

### **Worked As A Law Firm Secretary Twice**

As a computer literate who was confident of her knowledge back then, I accepted am early offer from my tutor to work at a small law firm not far from where I was training with computers. I was promised a pay less than 10 dollars but I can still remember how excited and happy I was to have my first job because I really didn't have any plans for the money since dad gave a lot for my upkeep. I just wanted the job and I agreed, started working and was doing well with it.

*Things went awry, I stopped working there even before my first pay...* I don't regret my decision for that at all.

The first time feeling, the experience, the new environment and most importantly, the lessons learnt there contributed to my next job experiences.

I don't know if it's just my luck or something, I got to work at two different law firms before I got admission into school. The two experiences were different and taught different lessons, still, I never regretted stopping work at those places as I figured I was trading my happiness for pays that weren't worth it.

### **Worked As A Sales girl**

This job experience was short lived as well but like the other jobs, I was excited when I first got it as it was related to Fashion sales. I got the job at a time I was showing some interest in learning fashion designing and I had plans to learn it during my holidays from a family friend.

Up till now, I still don't remember how I got to work there but I remember making a friend there that lasted for sometime and I learnt from her. The fashion shop wasn't so big but the organisation was amazing, it taught me a lot about keeping accounts and giving accurate details regarding things that matters a lot.

*But I got uncomfortable with the Boss of the shop so I left that job*.

During that time, I also learnt something fun I wanted to do and so I needed time away from working under someone or under pressure... That was when I started my own personal business.

### **Made & sold Candies**

*A picture of candies I bought, not own made*

This was the most exciting thing I did to warn money as I was in charge of what to buy, what to make, how to make them and how much profits to make. I got good support from my family to go ahead with them and also got to learn more about building and having relationship with people to grow one's business.

I enjoyed making the candies and I still do, I just rarely make them now. I'd say I made a lot of profits selling candies but most importantly I got to have a taste of how self employed feels like before I stopped working totally to focus on my studies.

***And then, Hive came along...***

Well, you know how it goes with this platform. It gets one addictive to all it's amazing offers, one gets to earn for having fun and making friends from all over the world... It's been a lot better with Hive but I still plan to find my way towards my dream job as I continue on this journey with Hive.

*Tell me what you think about my previous works before Hive and let's interact in the comment section.*</div>
