The truth is that I am very happy with my Astrophytum cacti, although for the moment I have only been able to pollinate Astrophytum Myriostigma and I have already harvested almost 250 seeds, the problem with the Asterias is that the flowers have not synchronized, or some cacti for being their first flowering have given flowers without pollen, so for the moment I will continue waiting for the opportunity to also have these seeds.  I have always said that I have a preference for the genus astrophytum and yet the Myriostiga were not my favorite, but now that I have seen them give so many flowers and they are really beautiful, I think they are attracting me almost to the same level as the asterias do.  By the way, remember I told you about the only descendant of my lobivia arachnacantha? Well the dominant color was red - purple, I don't know what color you see it, I feel that like one of its parents, it changes color depending on the position of the sun, and I really think the color looks amazing.   And since I have enough seeds, it was time to make new seedbeds, in December I made several seedbeds to experiment with germination in winter, I had many problems but I learned too much, and to be honest many of the cacti I germinated in that season have grown quite big, big and with beautiful color, so the experiment left me satisfied, although I don't think I will germinate seeds again in winter and I don't plan to buy seeds this year either, instead of buying seeds I will sow the seeds I harvest from my own cacti, they may be few but I don't have space anymore and that is causing me stress.   Now I want to tell you that I made a rookie mistake with these seeds, they are the seeds that I harvested from two fruits of my Ariocarpus, in total there were 104 seeds, I was working in the garden labeling the new seedbeds while the seed got dry after the disinfection when suddenly a very strong wind came and made the paper napkin fly away, I spent about half an hour looking for the seeds and thanks to that it was not a work in vain, I was able to recover at least 30 seeds, I felt a lot of anger and at the same time I said to myself, andele pendejo! But since it was quite hot I didn't want to be inside the house working, mistakes that we make sometimes.   These are the seeds of my Myriostigmas, they look beautiful and I hope they all hatch.  And here are three pictures so you can see a little bit of where these seeds came from.    In this package there are 100 seeds of Astrophytum Asterias I forgot I had saved and I hope they are still fertile.  Today while checking the garden I noticed that this rootstock was rotting, so I had to act quickly, I cut the graft and re-grafted it on another rootstock, I did not put the whole process because it is somewhat repetitive, luckily as we can see, the cactus was not affected by the sickness.   And finally I share with you the flower of my gymnocalycium ragonesei, in spite of being a small cactus it has already begun to give flowers, pity that I don't have any other specimen to pollinate it, so most probably I will order about 20 seeds to begin a good collection of this specimen.  Another thing I want to talk about is that the rain finally came to the city, two days ago it rained for less than 5 minutes, yesterday morning it was the same, but today in the afternoon it rained a lot, at least 2 hours and at this moment I am writing this post it is 11:35 p.m. and it is still raining a little bit, I really like this season because I can rest from watering the garden, the bad thing is that many people lose many plants for not having a good substrate, I don't have to worry so I am happy, see you.
