Ladies of Hive Community Contest #251 - Honesty is best policy
@LadiesofHive Community [Contest #251](https://hive.blog/hive-124452/@ladiesofhive/ladies-of-hive-community-contest-251) questions for the week are:

1️⃣ What are the top three values that guide your major life decisions and which value do you find the most challenging to practice consistently?
~ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 / πŽπ‘ ~
2️⃣ Looking back over your life, what are the moments that you are proudest of, where you stayed true to your core beliefs?

Our Values are like the backbone of our character, the quality of our life and relationships entirely depends on what values we hold for ourselves. I was blessed to have a father who always kept teaching me about maintaining the right ethics and values in life. The most important values that I learned from him is Honesty, Commitment and being True to self. And his legacy I carry till date, I am proud that all his values have helped me become a better person in life.

He would always tell me, no matter whatever the situation is do not shy away to be truthful and honest. I have always followed that, the gravest of mistakes also I have been honest, no matter whatever the situation is. There are times when it is difficult to be honest, but then now with my own experiences I firmly believe that being honest resolves the matter rather peacefully.

One very important value that guides my life is also being **true to my self**. There are times when heart says a different language then the mind and I believe in listening to my heart, because I believe that it guides me in the right direction. Also if I am not true to my own-self then how will I ever able to be honest with others. If I can cheat my own-self then I can be capable of cheating others also.

Getting to the second question. It was some years back when we had started investing in cryptos. I did not have much of knowledge then but my son had and he was guiding me and hubby. There was one trade he carried out and that led to a big loss wiping away almost all our crypto savings. In that there were investments of 2 of my family members also, which got wiped off. At that point of time I felt it was solely my responsibility, so even without letting them know, I reinvested their whole amount worth from my own pocket. At that moment I did not even have enough money to make that investment, so I took some loan, the prices were going up, so I had to do it then only, else I would had to remove more money from my pocket. My hubby and son told me that we can discuss the matter with our family members, but I was not of that opinion. My opinion was to give them every single penny of theirs. After many years later they got to know about the situation and were very grateful to me. I had thought that the trading would be profitable and I would surprise them with profits, and it went all wrong. It was my idea and what went wrong was also the mistake from my end, so I was completely liable for it.

When I think of that time, I feel very proud of myself. If I had not taken that decision at that point of time, possibly that incident would have kept haunting me all my life and I would have kept feeling guilty that because of my decisions some one lost money. In that moment, I could only remember my dad's teachings, he would always say, never ever play around with anyone's money, and be accountable for every penny. In that moment I felt, that they trusted me with their money so come may whatever I have to give them.

Mistakes do happen in life, but taking accountability of it and being honest in the situation will always bring peace. The moment we lie and try to manipulate, it starts getting messy and complicated.
