The Genetic and Behavioral Traits I Envision
<div class=text-justify>

It's common to hear parents say, My children will be better than me, richer than me, more beautiful than me, and the list goes on and on. That's a typical desire of most parents. Even some people with a clear bad trait will wish for a better trait for their children. That's a good one, and how it should be for any parent who cares and literally wants the best for their children.

I am not an exception anyways; constantly, I wish and pray that my children become the type that I would always be proud of. The type that the society would be proud of, in values, character, and even before any sort of physical appearance, the phenotype.

Genetically, children are made from both parents, and seeing the traits of both the father and the mother in the life of a child is natural. The question according to this prompt is, do I think that if my children possess my traits, then they will be positively exceptional in society? And which traits of mine would I want them to acquire? And if given the opportunity to select their genetic traits, which should I select?

The truth is that as much as it's natural to see parent's traits in the lives of their children, sometimes, children exhibit traits totally different from what their parents carry. Sometimes, these traits can be positive or negative. Currently, I am noticing a trait in the life of my first son, and I have been questioning where the trait is coming from because obviously, I don't have it, and neither does my husband. Fortunately, it's a good trait, maybe just the way nature has it and blessed him with it.

I will say that even with science, God has a way of creating unique beings, and whenever I see positive traits in the life of my child, I will help him nurture it and help him also to eliminate a negative trait. Personally, I am proud to say that I possess some traits that will make my children exceptional in society if they have them as well, and obviously, I have a trait I wouldn't want to pass down to my offspring, especially being worried unnecessarily and impatient. I pray my children don't grow to carry these traits because I obviously inherited them from my mom, lolz.

But you see, being resilient? If I can open their body system and plant this trait, then I shouldn't hesitate to do so. Life always shows us shege banza, but being resilient would always help you to bounce back and survive tough situations. With resilience, they would be able to face life's challenges boldly. I have also been a curious child even till now, and positively, it has been impacting my life. Empathy, attention to details, etc., are the traits I would really want them to have and journey in this life. They will not only strive better in this life with these traits and more , but use it to inspire those around them.

When it comes to behavioral makeup, I would love smart and intelligent children, children who can express themselves and not allow anyone to suppress them. Even as little as my kids are now, I always teach them this, planting this trait gradually. The ability to speak up matters in a world like this where people can manipulate each other at a given opportunity. I want them to be spiritually alert too, knowing that our world is full of battles; you work hard and pray always; be cheerful always like someone without any problems… lolz.

*****

I don't think I really care much about their skin color and facial look; just be healthy and sound, and then no dwarfism, lolz…that's for the physical appearance for me.
