Hello, this is my first post in the community and I wanted to start with something that I will actually use and that I have not seen in any other post, a GamePad, more specifically a homemade one, made from an old Playstation 2 controller.

This is a wireless controller that was damaged a long time ago. Maybe it can be repaired, although I no longer have a Playstation 2 to be able to use it and even if I did, I couldn't do it, since I lost the USB connector that connected to the console. That is why I have decided to give it another use and disarm it.

Of course, that's not to say I won't save the pieces for future projects. I'm not an expert on the subject, although I remember once seeing a video where accelerometers were used to perform pedals. Maybe later I'll be able to figure out how to do it, for now I'll keep the electronics inside ☺️

After having removed the electronic part, I began to cut with a saw blade. I honestly had no idea what I was doing and it's so much so that at one point I thought it wasn't working and decided to turn the camera off. Although, after clearing my head and realizing that maybe it could work, I decided to turn it back on and record what they see.

Using my old phone, I could test the progress and I was actually quite surprised that it had worked and that it would have turned out so well. Taking into account that it is an improvised project and that I have only used a hand saw.

Searching through the dishes of the house I got some pieces of aluminum used to place false ceilings and I cut one to make the base where the phone would rest. At this point I had decided to solve one problem at a time and do what I do best, improvise as I go!

I know that the finish is important and it's not just about functionality, so I used flexible dough to fill in the holes and give them a stylized shape. It won't be a fancy, fancy finish, but it will help cover any blemishes left behind by the hand saw.

The next step was to add some paint. For this I used the simplest and to tell the truth the only thing I have at home, cold paint and a brush. I wish I had a spray right now!

Once the paint was dry, I added a bit of nail polish on top, which will help make it waterproof.

Lastly I added a bar at the back, which will help keep both pieces at the correct distance every time. Logically this will only work for phones with the same size as mine, although I only intend to use it.

In the GIF it looks very tight, but in reality it comes out smoothly when you swipe up. If it is too loose, it will fall off when handling it.

And before you ask me, I'm going to answer it; Yes, it works perfectly!

The idea is that when spending hours playing it becomes painful to hold the phone, with the help of this GamePad I will be able to have more comfort, not to mention more stability when playing games that use the gyroscope. For now, I'm happy driving my big truck πŸ˜‚
