Hello beefriends!  Yesterday I had fun making some mushroom magnets so I thought I would share. :)

It was a learning experience, because I had bought some little magnets that said they were extra strong, but they were not strong enough to hold the weight of the clay if I used just one, or even two.

*I originally tried just putting one magnet in the stem, which you can see on the right in this photo, but it wasn't enough.*

I also learned that making the top and bottom separate and then attaching them before baking the clay made them stronger so that the flat part of the mushroom didn't flop over in the oven.  That's why one of them is broken and I glued it, because I saw it was bending over in the oven and I tried to straighten it while it was still soft and broke it instead.  The two where I did the top and stem separately didn't bend, though, so I think I will do it that way in the future.

Then I painted them with acrylic paint.  I tried to make them look like Dryad's Saddle mushrooms. :)

¡Hola amigas abejas!  Ayer me divertí haciendo unos imanes de hongos, así que pensé en compartirlos. :)

Fue una experiencia de aprendizaje, porque había comprado algunos imanes pequeños que decían que eran extra fuertes, pero no eran lo suficientemente fuertes para sostener el peso de la arcilla si usaba solo uno, o incluso dos.

También aprendí que separar la parte superior e inferior y luego unirlos antes de hornear la arcilla los hacía más fuertes para que la parte plana del hongo no se cayera en el horno. Por eso uno de ellos está roto y lo pegué, porque vi que se doblaba en el horno y traté de enderezarlo mientras aún estaba blando y lo rompí. Sin embargo, los dos en los que hice la parte superior y el vástago por separado no se doblaron, así que creo que lo haré de esa manera en el futuro.

Luego los pinté con pintura acrílica. Traté de hacer que se parecieran a los hongos Sillín de Dríada. :)
