How I Would Invest $50,000 From Scratch In This Crypto Winter

This post is inspired from @behiver post on [How you'd invest $50,000 into crypto starting from scratch in this crypto winter?](https://leofinance.io/@behiver/how-you-d-invest-usd50-000-into-crypto-starting-from-scratch-in-this-crypto-winter) and I must say, his chosen crypto assets are great to invest in during this bear season. Funny how investing $50,000 seems like a small amount to me when it comes to investing but its a very large amount when it comes to spending. I guess I have days and nights of countless fantasising to thank for that, I have fantasised about investing huge amount of money so much I can feel like I already have it. Well, back to the reason I started making this post, $50,000 yeah, that is quite a lot of money to invest in crypto right now because, everything is on red. So you are like a person given $50k to go spend on a Black Friday, your cart is about to get filled with some of the best cryptos.

First of all, one thing I have learnt in crypto and financial investment is always choose safety and security first over making profit and don’t run for quick fast profit without doing your research. After learning that, I have decided that the only type of crypto I will be investing on, will be the ones on the proof of stake mechanism, because I want my money to work for me. I dont like DeFi Liquidity pool because of the risk of impermanent loss, so I dont have to worry about that risk. With this you can tell that Bitcoin and other proof of work crypto is not on my list, because, I can’t have my money staying idle. My list of of proof of stake coins are not really much as I prefer quality over quantity.

My number 1 choice should be **Hive**, on hive we have the layer 2 tokens that you can also earn from, so I will invest 35% of $50,000,giving me $17,500. I will be using 30% to buy Hive and powering up and 5% to buy Leo token. This means I will be using $15,000 to buy Hive @30,737 Hive, and $2,500 to buy Leo token @44,988 Leo tokens. I will stake them and delegate Hive power to @leo.voter @hodlcommunity and @ecency but Leo token will be delegated to @hodlcommunity, I should be expecting at least 8% APR from them. This leaves me with $32,500 extra to invest. Diversification is key, but I have to be careful because I don’t want a case of LUNA Classic where volatility goes beyond control and devalues my whole assets.

The next coin I will buy would be **Ethereum**, because of how secure it is, glad its on proof of stake mechanism now, this way I earn incentives for staking my ETH, and I will be investing $15,000 , that will be 30% of $50,000. I will stake that, I haven’t done my research on how to stake ETH so I dont know if its a centralised site or a decentralised site. $15,000 invested in ETH will give 11.58 ETH. Pretty decent amount. This will leave me with $17,500 to invest.

**Solana** is my next coin, because, its still cheap at double digit figure, its going to be like scooping Ethereum at $32, it can be staked to earn 6.67% APR, I will be throwing $10,000 to get 312 SOL, this way when the price gets to $4k anytime, I would be $1.2 Million rich. I will be left with $7,500 to invest on other tokens or coins.

Then I will buy a metaverse token, where I can stake and earn too, I will divide the remaining $7,500 between SAND and Decentraland.
