 Ayer compartí algo sobre la historia de Raziel, uno de los personajes del videojuego “Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver” y una parodia que hice del intro del juego. Hoy les comparto un fanart que hice de èl en su forma espectral. Al inicio del juego, se nos muestra a Raziel en su forma de vampiro y posterior a su muerte y resurrección, en su forma espectral. El cambio del personaje es enorme, tanto que en una línea del dialogo el mismo Raziel dice que preferiría su condenación eterna a vivir en esa eterna parodia al darse cuenta del pobre cuerpo en el que su espíritu debe habitar. El Raziel vampiro es bastante atractivo comparado con el resto de sus hermanos Zephon, Dumah, Rahab y Turel. Sin embargo, en mi caso, lo encontré más interesante en su forma espectral, ya que no es el aspecto físico lo que te lleva a hacer empatía con el personaje sino al ver lo injusto que fue tratado por Kain. ¡Se podría decir que yo recorrí el juego entero buscando vengarlo! Este diseño de personaje es bastante complejo al momento de expresar emociones ya que lleva todo el rostro cubierto (al darse cuenta que no tiene mandíbula, Raziel se oculta el rostro con lo que fuese, aunque toda roída y desecha, parte de la capa que usaba como Lugarteniente del Clan Razielim). Sólo queda jugar con los ojos (sin pupilas) y el lenguaje corporal. A continuación, les dejo capturas del proceso de elaboración de esta ilustración. Hice el boceto en mi sketchbook y realicé el entintado en digital. Para dar más profundidad, resalté con mayor grosor las líneas de los elementos más cercanos al observador para crear el efecto de proximidad a la cámara. El fondo lo realicé con brochas de tizas y pastel. De esa forma, quedaría con mayor textura las paredes y pisos de piedra como se puede apreciar en el juego. Yesterday I shared something about the story of Raziel, one of the characters from the video game "Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver" and a parody I made of the game's intro. Today I share a fanart that I made of him in his spectral form. At the beginning of the game, Raziel is shown in his vampire form and after his death and resurrection, in his spectral form. The character's change is enormous, so much so that in one line of the dialogue, Raziel himself says that he would prefer his eternal damnation to living in that eternal parody when he realized the poor body in which his spirit must inhabit. Vampire Raziel is quite attractive compared to the rest of his siblings Zephon, Dumah, Rahab, and Turel. However, in my case, I found it more interesting in its spectral form, since it's not the physical appearance that leads you to empathize with the character but seeing how unfairly he was treated by Kain. You could say that I went through the entire game looking to avenge him! This character design is quite complex when it comes to expressing emotions since his entire face is covered (realizing that he has no jaw, Raziel hides his face with whatever, although all gnawed and discarded, part of the cape he used to wear as a Lieutenant of the Razielim Clan). It only remains to play with the eyes (without pupils) and body language. Below, I leave you screenshots of the process of making this illustration. I made the sketch in my sketchbook and did the inking digitally. To give more depth, I highlighted the lines of the elements closest to the viewer thicker to create the effect of proximity to the camera. I made the background with chalk and pastel brushes.
