# If you just like me have some shiny LTC in your twice-encrypted, password protected paper wallet, proceed further, if not – go straight to Upvote button at the bottom of this post ;D <br>  # Also, if you were brave enough to store your litecoins with any of the following exchanges, you will get newly forked coins automatically: <br>  # Check your balance ;D <br> So, at block #1371111 (Feb, 18, 2017) of the LTC chain some enterprising guys together with a talkative unicorn (see below) made a fork of litecoin cryptocurrency and named it (surprise surprise!) Litecoin Cash.  I know what you say... "This is ridiculous!" – right? That's exactly what official developer of the LTC chain said:  Nevertheless, I would say if it could give more money, why not? I honestly believed that Bitcoin Cash was a joke until I saw the price... # Specifications  # How to claim 1. Check if you had any balance at the official site: https://litecoinca.sh  2. Transfer your LTC to another (preferably isolated) address (MAKE BACKUPS BEFORE AND AFTER!!!) 3. Get the private key of the old address you had your LTC ([comprehensive video of the process](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TevLN_k-GWA)) 4. Download official LCC wallet from https://litecoinca.sh/#download and install it or compile it from source code: https://github.com/litecoincash-project/litecoincash (My advice is to install the LCC wallet either in sandbox or on a PC isolated from your LAN just in case) 5. Download bootstrap from http://mirror.enigma-mining.de/bootstrap.dat.zip or http://dediwerk.de/bootstrap.dat.zip or better yet get the torrent file: https://litecoinca.sh/downloads/bootstrap.torrent (much faster!) 6. Close the wallet and put bootstrap.zip into roaming directory on windows or litecoincash directory under linux. 7. Run the wallet and sync (can take from several hours up to a night, depending on speed of your computer). Here are the nodes I'm connected to at the moment: 207.201.218.201 136.63.238.170 94.137.223.79 187.180.69.212 62.77.153.134 <br> Import your **OLD** empty private key into the Litecoin Cash wallet: https://litecoinca.sh/img/keyimportmenu.png Voila! We got them:  The rate 10 LLC per 1 LTC you had on Feb, 18. # Is it even worth the effort? Well, it depends, but some extra money never hurts ))) The good part is that it's already traded at Yobit: https://yobit.net/en/trade/LCC/BTC   As you can see 1 LTC translates into $63 up to $98 during the last 24h... But... the bad part is that you can't deposit LCC at yobit yet. # So what? I would expect two things: - More exchanges will add LitecoinCash and If you are fast enough to claim LCC and sell it first - good for you - you got +20%-30% from your LTC :D - If you are not too fast... well, still claim it, look at the price at that moment, sell some maybe and buy your wife new shoes and a fishing pole for yourself (girls can do it other way around).
