Here are a few fall sightings for this #featheredfriday  As usual I spotted plenty of house sparrows but this on posed nicely against the backdrop of a bokeh orange tree.  A few others in the bush were a bit leery of me. Usually these guys are more tame.  This one was bold and didn't fly away when I got closer. Sadly I couldn't line him up with a more red backdrop nearby.  The rest posed against evergreen backdrops. Not too cold yet for a full puffup they are only halfway puffed.  Here's a bluejay on my balcony picking around in the flowers.  It can't be looking for nesting material, maybe its looking for food. Sadly most my shots were blurry as the screen door was in front of him.  It ended up picking some kind of moth pupa out of the dirt. I missed the shot of the pupa in its beak by half a second, womp.  Now for a northern flicker that was being a tough model. I couldn't quite get a view of it not covered by branches.  Now for a blinking photo lol. I also was trying to get a shot of its red spot on the head but it would always turn its head to the side of me.  In the end I didn't quite succeed in getting a clear shot of this guy with its red spot. You can see a hint of its yellow wing feathers but that's about it. That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
