Life is a learning curve. Every phase of life teaches us some important lesson. It is not only the life that teaches everything, there are many things that a person have to learn and grasp to survive and to live. Be it school curriculam, or basic things in life like riding a cycle or bikes or solving mathematics problem or cooking or other things. Learning any new skill or course in begining is always challenging and tough. Fear of failure, lack of time, insufficient resources, and the brain's initial difficulty in forming new neural pathways all contribute to the struggle. There are many things that challenges me but the one skill which took a lot to implement in life and to master it is "Saying No". *(own edited image)* Learning to say no is a valuable life skill that can significantly improve our overall well-being and success. Saying "no" is important for maintaining boundaries, protecting your time and energy, and prioritizing your own well-being. Saying no to requests or commitments that don't align with your priorities allows you to focus on what truly matters to you. It helps define your limits and prevents you from being taken advantage of or over-committed. When you say no to things you genuinely don't want to do, you're more likely to be present and engaged in the things you do say yes to, leading to stronger and more fulfilling relationships. By prioritizing your time and energy, you can be more effective in the things you choose to do. It is common to find saying "no" difficult, often stemming from a desire to please others, a fear of conflict, or a lack of self-esteem. I remember saying yes to everything feels so easy. It took me many years to realize that saying "yes" to everything is bad practices. There are chances that our opinion were not considered and valued. The situation gets so worse that my colleagues started to take benefit of mine innocence. They forward their task to me easily and they enjoy their time, as I take their responsibility. It took time to understand that peoole started fooling me, with my "yes" attitude to everything. It was not like I lacked self esteem or my own decision making process, but I took every task or responsibility as a challenge. I wanted to test my limit for completing tasks and fulfilling my responsibility. Saying "No" to any one is hardest things to learn. Many people find it hard because of various factors : - People may worry about the reaction of others if they decline a request. - Saying "yes" is often seen as a way to gain approval or avoid rejection. - Individuals with low self-esteem may feel they need to constantly please others to feel validated. - People prioritize the needs and desires of others over their own, leading them to say "yes" even when they don't want to. - Some individuals haven't learned how to express their needs and boundaries effectively. - Many people prefer to avoid disagreements or tension, leading them to say "yes" even when they would rather say "no". - Some feel compelled to fulfill requests or obligations, even if it puts a strain on their time or energy. Implementing this basic skills in my life was very challenging. I am still in the learning phase, it took me time to realize it's importance. It is important to remember that saying "no" doesn't make us selfish. It is about setting healthy boundaries and protecting our time and energy. To get better at saying "No" in life, I frequently remind myself that it is okay to prioritize our own needs and well-being than focussing on others. Rather than giving a quick responce to any request, I started taking time before responding. Analyzing every pros and cons and juding how the request will impact my schedule. Saying "No" is not easy skill, and I am still trying to master it in my life. **In good faith - Peace!!** Posted Using [INLEO](https://inleo.io/@steemflow/mastering-the-basic-life-skills-ewr)
