**Good Monday to all our creative community!!! I hope this week has been productive for you and that you are doing well!** I've been busy this week looking for a pattern for my hat and a pom-pom for a hat I knitted last year. [](https://postimg.cc/CBPFdNRn) I wanted to make a pom-pom last winter, but I didn't have the right yarn. After my husband untangled my old scarf, I had pom-pom yarn. More precisely, I did not use the yarn itself, but the threads from which the fringe of the scarf was made. I have made pom poms many times already. To do this, I cut out two identical circles from cardboard, inside of which I cut a hole. Then I wound the yarn on this cardboards put together. This always takes a long time since I wind a lot of yarn for a fluffy pom pom. [](https://postimg.cc/xXcLdxqM) Next, my task is to cut the threads along the edge of cardboard circles, carefully push the two halves of the cardboard, thread the thread between them and tightly pull and fix the pompom. And then it happened that the cardboard circles were torn and the wound yarn began to crumble. Oh no! ๐ญ So much time of my work!!! ๐ It turned out that I did not use thick enough cardboard. Pompoms need really thick cardboard to withstand the tight pull of the yarn and cutting it. It was my mistake and it was a shame. I tried to hold the yarn that was spreading in all directions, finish cutting it and knit it as tight as possible. You can see in the photo above that I got the pom-pom after all, but I'm not sure that I was able to fix the yarn in it well. Therefore, I do not know how long the pompom will last and not crumble into threads. This is a big lesson for me: make sure you have the right cardboard before you start! In any case, a hat with a pompom looks much more interesting than it was without it. Compare! ๐ Which hat option do you like best? In addition, as I already wrote, I was looking for a pattern for knitting my new hat. There were several options, but I settled on these. [](https://postimg.cc/7CqDVc7T) I liked this pattern but it seemed to me a little heavy for a hat. [](https://postimg.cc/WqqPzPRx) I think this would be a suitable pattern for thick yarn. But my yarn is not very thick and I wanted something more delicate for my hat. One needlewoman-knitter slightly changed this pattern and what she ended up with, I liked a lot more. [](https://postimg.cc/zyr1zMxP) I specifically tried to knit these patterns on one sample so that you can compare them. See, the top pattern looks more gentle. I decided to stop there. The blue yarn contains a lurix thread. It's very pretty but it will irritate my skin when it comes into contact with it. Therefore, I decided to knit the lower part of the hat from white yarn, and add blue yarn to knitting later. [](https://postimg.cc/SXZ0GKkw) I'm interested in what I can do. ๐ So, I already have another knitting project. *(all photos are taken by me)* https://images.ecency.com/p/FxX5caie56yoXoGCCgZvnxnNWEmSsYcUaCKXuXWWpWRLoqYbUh6owDxoLQoGw9eMPYQvEoxyDSaAjZcPUJMzMa4iQhikc91dhURzja68hNBY.webp?format=webp&mode=fit **Take care of yourself and be healthy!**
