Reply: Can we talk giveaway posts for a bit?
#
 It goes much deeper.

![The Hive Name.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/thehive/fQMakAjC-The20Hive20Name.png)
I am one not to read post as a personal rule. I do not read them because so often the writer will not like my reply.

Snook posts I do read (most of), but there are reasons for that. I seen this post by Acidyo [Can we talk giveaway posts for a bit?](https://peakd.com/hive-196233/@acidyo/can-we-talk-giveaway-posts-for-a-bit#@thehive/re-acidyo-rqyq3s).

In the first part of the post. Rewards for giveaways and how much the post earns in rewards are looked at. Giving out less than 1 HIVE in rewards and gaining multiple HIVE from the post.

The fairness of this is in question.

The post does go on and give an example and brings in to question the legitimacy of the results. That is something I can see many taking advantage of. That is plain and simple theft.

Giveaway posts being profitable or not should not be part of the question.

The post claims rewards do not go to other content because a vote was used on a weak giveaway post. This is not true.

Suggestions.

The standard of a post or the standard of the rewards should not matter. Actions on the chain is what is wanted? I agree the higher the standards of all content on the blockchain would be a good thing. Establishing what is a higher or lower standard of content is not so easy.

On what do you judge the content?
Images?
Length?
Language?
Formatting?
The message?
Truth/fiction?

That list could go on and on with opposing reasons for supporting or not a post.

A key thing to think about. Is why put the effort in more than is needed. When that time can be used on other things. The reason to ask the question is. Very few posts get the rewards when a person is new. Getting seen on this chain is the hardest part. Giveaways and posts about game played. That brings many their 0.1 or so a day. Curators, well blah blah blah swearwords blah blah.
It has been shown over and over they vote to the same circles.
I am not targeting any curator with that statement. There is only so much each of us can see. Finding that needle in a haystack daily is not easy.

Like Acidyo has said. He gets some automated votes regardless of the content. If it is agreed with or not. He still gets that vote from my account.

Suppose.
A man has a jewellery store.
He advertises. Every Customer Gets a Gram of Gold.
Now he only sells gold in Kilo's So a customer must buy a kilo of gold to get the free gram.
Giveaways are advertisements. They are free to enter raffles.

On the topic of rewards and distribution.
100% of the HP = 100% of the rewards for the day.
Using your staked HP does not remove anything from anyone. There is a % of the vote allocated to your account. This is determined by the amount of HP you hold. This can be seen when you place a vote. The value the vote is worth is displayed. That value is the total daily reward divided by your % of the total amount of HP on the blockchain you have staked.

I do not like a post give it a 0.01 reward and later Blocktrades makes a vote and wipes my one out because his stake is much larger. The amount my vote is worth is already there.

@acidyo If you would like to do a really swearword awesome giveaway. Let's talk. Let's talk building up to giveaways that get people to sign up on the blockchain.
Each year should enable bigger giveaways.

Unless there are some to centralize some content with a front end. Then monitor the content. Cover a wide range of general interest topics and have them filtered for user preference. There is no point to measure the standard or value of content. Providing the content is not illegal.
