### D-Backs win 9 Straight:

The Arizona Diamondbacks are a good team. They’ve got the starters in Zack Greinke, Robbie Ray and Patrick Corbin to go deep in games without taxing a bullpen. They got the hitters and fielders led by perennial MVP candidate Paul Goldschmidt to boot. They were a playoff contender when they started the season but no one expected this. The D-backs became the 2ndteam to open the season and win their first 9 series joing the 1907 Cubs as the only only team to do so. The last team to do it in either league was the 2001 Mariners that set a record win 116 wins. The team has also pasted their 6 time defending NL West Division rivals, the Dodgers, winning 5 of 6 so far.

### Pablo the Pitcher?:

On Saturday, the Giants were losing 15-6 in the first game of a double header against their rivals, the Dodgers. To save the bullpen for the second game, manager Bruce Bochy called to the mound a fan favorite. The rotund Pablo ‘Panda’ Sandoval came to the mound and the crowd roared to life. The third baseman peppered in to mid 80’s heat and some 12 to 6 curves to get a perfect 1-2-3 inning to prevent any more damage.

### Acuna the Great:

The number one prospect in all of baseball is making his impact felt. Ronald Acuna had rightfully earned a spot on the big league roster after raking in spring training. In order to keep him under contract for a few more years, the Braves held him back a Triple A. This in turn sapped Acuna of his confidence and lead to an underwhelming start at Triple A. He hit .232 with only 3 extra base hits in 78 at bats. On April 25th, the Braves called Acuna up and the he immediately began to show the Braves what they were missing. In the 5 games since his call up, Acuna is hitting at a .421 clip and has 5 extra base hits in 22 at bats. Go get’em, Ronny!

### Kingham of the Hill:

Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Nick Kingham battled through injuries in 2015 and 2016 to finally make his big league debut on Sunday and he accomplished something that only one other pitcher has done in the last 100 years. Kingham pitched a perfect game into the 7thinning in a 5-0 victory over the Cards. He joined Johnny Cueto in 2008 as the only other pitcher to allow 1 hit with at least 9k’s and no walks in their debuts. Kingham retired 20 straight batters at one point.
