Break up’s are hard to do. But sometimes staying broken up can be just as hard. It’s difficult when there’s just this person across town that knows exactly what you like, and has done it time after time. 

Dating apps have all the charm and personality of a Japanese blowjob robot, and meeting people in bars can be both expensive and humiliating.

So once the initial heartbreak, bad feelings and anger subsides, it’s hard not to think that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to fire a casually flirtatious text to the person that just became your ex…

But should  you?

It’s hard to say what the numbers are on long term relationships that have stood the test of time, after a short break followed by a hook-up and resulted in reconciliation, but I imagine the numbers are low. But then again, they say, “the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else.” So what if the person you get under is the one you’re trying to get over in the first place?

When you Google, “should I text my ex” the answer is always the same: don’t. But it’s hard to stare into the void of unknown sexual encounters and not just want one more time around the bet.

So what do you think? Snap you iPhone in half before texting your ex? Or wash your sheets and invite them over for a shame stroll down memory lane.
