Holo there, how's it going? Hope you had a good day and a nice start to the week!
It's been just over a week since I started working on this, and today I want to show you what it was. I've been juggling it alongside other stuff, and sometimes I've paused to finish something else first, so yeah, because of how tricky it was, taking it slow seemed like the way to go.

I wanted this to be an idea for a creature in @holozing , so since last week I've been looking for the theme π‘ to make these little samples, I've been thinking about several but just the thought of how I would make such small creatures with lines or, failing that, there would be three, meant a big experiment and challenge that could go wrong.

I got inspired by a flower called "Lady of the Night" which has this weird thing of blooming only at night and just once a year, sometimes a couple more times but it depends.

The first step to start this drawing, though it wasn't until after many hours and even days that I came up with this result 'cause it's been trial and error plus trying to fix some lines that have no mercy with me π€π€£. That's when I decided, I can't keep making more lines, I gotta paint.

When I finally got around to painting, I grabbed this round, soft brush and slapped down a base to sort of start things off, then just kinda worked my way up from there. It wasn't anything super detailed, a bit fuzzy even.

As I went along, I was detailing things a bit more, hmmmmmm I have mixed feelings about the black lines so I added some color to tone down the contrast seemed like a better idea. I was also throwing in some lights and shadows here and there, just to spice it up a bit.

I've done something for the background, 'cause before it seemed like they were flying in the void, so I made some shadows to show the creatures' bodies casting them, which makes me think they were standing in a space. There aren't many changes in this step apart from the background - I think I intensified the colors a bit more.

There were several advances in this part, but there was an existential crisis with the lines because I wanted to keep them, but I also wanted to get rid of them or make them go unnoticed. Well, the truth is that here I started that process with some lights and shadows.

To finally wrap up this whole process after several days, even though I had everything on one canvas together, I wanted to take out each little thing separately. Besides, finishing many things that were missing, I think in the end I covered up more of the line. It's difficult to deal with the lines because I still think they're tacky and I can't let them show.
The truth is that in the end, it's not so bad. The result wasn't so catastrophic.
