Good evening, friends,
From time to time we can witness unexpected sights and events. Yesterday I saw beautiful flowers in the garden of the mosque in the neighboring village. I think it is a great chance to see flowers in this season. They have somehow continued their lives without paying attention to the cold. Moreover, they were all standing upright. I couldn't hide my astonishment, so I asked the mosque's teacher a few questions about the flowers.

*İyi akşamlar arkadaşlar,
Zaman zaman beklemediğimiz manzaralara,  olaylara tanıklık edebiliyoruz. Dün civar köydeki caminin  bahçesinde güzel çiçeklerle karşılaştım. Bu mevsimde çiçek görebilmek sanırım büyük bir şans. Soğuklara aldırış etmeden hayatlarını bir şekilde devam ettirmişler. Üstelik hepsi sapasağlam ayakta duruyordu. Şaşkınlığımı gizleyemediğim için caminin hocasına çiçekler hakkında birkaç soru sordum.*

I asked how the flowers were alive despite the cold weather, and whether they received any special care. The teacher told me that these flowers were resistant to the cold and would even live for a while. This answer calmed my astonishment. To be honest, I had never seen live flowers in this season before. 
He said that they don't take special care of the flowers, they take care of them from time to time.

*Havaların soğuk olmasına rağmen çiçeklerin nasıl canlı olduğunu, özel olarak ilgilenip ilgilenmediklerini sordum. Hoca, bu çiçeklerin soğuğa dayanıklı olduğunu hatta bir müddet daha yaşayacaklarını söyledi. Hocanın bu cevabı şaşkınlığımı yatıştırdı. Açıkçası bu mevsimde daha önce canlı çiçek görmemiştim. 
Çiçeklerle özel olarak ilgilenmediklerini, ara ara bakımlarını yaptıklarını söyledi.*

While we are on the subject of flowers, it is important to mention a few important issues :) As you know, women have a special interest in flowers. That's why flowers are usually gifted to women on special occasions. Flowers also have a magical effect on women. When I was in university, my roommate used to make a special bouquet of flowers and take it to his door whenever he had a fight with his girlfriend. The result? His girlfriend would forgive him when she saw the flowers :) 
This power of flowers is of course indisputable, but I am against using them as a tool in such situations.

*Çiçek konusu açılmışken birkaç önemli konuya değinmeden geçmek olmaz :) Malum, kadınlar çiçeklere karşı ayrı bir ilgi duyarlar. Bu yüzden genellikle kadınlara özel günlerde çiçek hediye edilir. Ayrıca çiçeklerin kadınlar üzerinde büyülü bir etkisi var. Bu kanıya şöyle bir durumdan vardım. Üniversitede iken ev arkadaşım, kız arkadaşı ile ne zaman kavga etse özel çiçek buketi yaptırır kapısına kadar götürürdü. Sonuç mu? Kız arkadaşı çiçekleri görünce affederdi :) 
Çiçeğin bu gücü elbette tartışılamaz ancak böyle durumlarda aracı olarak kullanılmasına karşıyım.*

As the hodja and I continued to talk about flowers, he told me that I could pluck them, but I obviously couldn't spare these beauties. After a while, the subject turned to the mosque that had recently been built in the village. 
The mosque has a magnificent view. Do you like it too? I didn't go inside but the exterior is quite impressive in terms of architecture.

*Hocayla çiçek muhabbeti devam ederken, bana koparabileğimi söyledi ancak ben bu güzelliklere açıkçası kıyamadım. Bir müddet sonra konu, köye yakın zamanda yapılan camiye döndü. 
Caminin muazzam bir görüntüsü var. Siz de beğendiniz mi? İçerisine girmedim ama dış kısmı mimari açısından oldukça etkileyici.*

The village has been suffering from a mosque for a long time. I was happy to see that a mosque worthy of the village was finally built. In addition, with the construction of the new mosque, there has been a slight increase in the number of congregation.

*Köy, uzun zamandır cami yönünden sıkıntı çekiyordu. Sonunda köye yakışır bir caminin inşa edildiğini görmek beni sevindirdi. Bunların yanında yeni caminin inşaatıyla birlikte cemaat sayısında bir miktar artış olmuş.*
