Its been many years since I play for events. I used to spent time playing for churches, night clubs, and used to have my own band. I was quite active in church event during my high school time.  Like every other teenagers, I also have a hidden(and forbidden) lifestyle. I used to sell counterfeited products, pirated CDs, and once planting some "unknown" plant for a good amount of cash. All that, hidden behind the innocent face of religious place.  As I grew into the working society, i had to spent more time socialising. I personally knows living that kind of lifestyle isn't giving any good impression to the religion, and therefore I started to distance myself from my Bible. I have remove my necklace and the crucifix so i don't rise anymore eyebrows. At times, when people asked me if I'm a Christian, i felt shame to admit it.  It's hard to imagine, after almost 20 years, i am once again carrying my guitar, walked into a church and play for the mass. I wish my dad is here to listen to my playing. For the first time, I'm not only practicing abstain during lent, I'm commited to play for the entire season.  Despite the busy work schedule, I felt the obligation to spend time practicing the piece, together with the choir. When the sound technician offered me to plug in, i decided NOT to, but i only wanted a microphone externally, so i can be sure to NOT over powering the choir. This is not a personal pop concert, musical instruments are meant to compliment the singing voices.  Even rain, I choose not yo skip. Now that I think it back, for so many years I've been avoiding church, the only reason has to be my discipline issue. Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing this piece to tell you its ok to live a messy life when young. I'm merely reflecting what have i got myself into for the past 20 years.  Speaking of which, how the heck the black paint got faded beneath the acrylics 😅 This is my only classical guitar and i think for the first time in my life I've played it so much within short period of time. I will keep using this classical guitar every lent season until... Well... Either I'm not around, or the guitar give up first.
