0.000 HBDUpgrading my system's graphics card from RX 580 4gb to a RX 5700 XT.

In this post we will talk about my new shiny RX 5700 XT which replaces my old but good RX 580 4GB in my primary system, We will talk about why I upgraded, 2nd hand/refurbished/brandnew, AISURIX, what and what not to do, The PROS and CONS, Benchmarks, and of course, my not so important overall thoughts about the whole ordeal and what happens next.

THE WHY?

It's pretty obvious that the number one factor in why one upgrades or even just buy a videocard in their system is videogames, But why do people buy new hardware if the current ones can run the games you want to play?

The answer is simple. Immersion. Being able to just play videogames is different to being able to play videogames the way it is intended to be and is on another level again when playing videogames above more than what it was intended to be. but my real answer to this question is this, "My RX 580 4GB is simply not capable enough to maintain my standards/enjoyment for gaming and so I need a better device."

Playing BOTW in 60fps and at 4k resolution is an absolute treat.
[The Image above is compressed by Peakd, here's a link to a BIGGER but BETTER photo thanks to Hiveblog!](https://images.hive.blog/DQmeU6LGn6N3rCQs3rxJtwKwStFah36srVRBXx2DjMXPNi7/Screenshot_2023-06-01_17-29-49.png)

What were the factors that made me feel I needed to buy a new one?

* Current videogames, specially newer ones have increased the video memory requirements quite a lot. My RX 580 4GB which has only 4GB of video memory is simply inadequate for current games. What happens you might ask if you have less video memory than required? It stutters, It stutters as it loads and unloads assets from the game. * Sixty(60) Frames Per Second, as a gamer this is the absolute minimum unless we have no choice. The RX 580 4GB struggles to maintain it in my current monitor, the bigger the resolution the higher the required graphical computation. there's a certain kind of shitty feeling when you play a game at 30 FPS when it was intended to be played at 60 FPS. I'd also want 120 FPS when playing competitive online games. * Beyond the two reasons above, there's probably no other major reasons, some of the minor reasons include the lack of instruction sets a newer videogame may require to run.

2nd Hand, Refurbished, and Brand New.

Shouldn't it be Brand New, Refurbished, and 2nd Hand? Well sure, except I filter them in terms of price performance. The difference is obvious between the three tiers of quality: * 2nd Hand goods are the cheapest options. I bought my old RX 580 4GB two years ago for the price of $100, still runs. Out of the four second hand videocards I bought, one of them failed after 6 months, The other 3 still runs fine. Buying a second hand is more of a temporary solution at best and if they last long that would be amazing. * Refurbished goods are goods that were sent back to the manufacturer due to defects, repaired, and resold and a lower price point. Refurbished goods are returned to the manufacturer from reasons ranging from having a chipped plastic, to missing parts, and then there are some that are downright replaced, But they get repaired and I think they are as good as new. I am using a refurbished ultra wide screen right now, I loved it. * Brand New. They're brand new. full price, doesn't make them immune to breaking, it just means they're untouched.

AISURIX

A brand I have never heard of in my whole life until I bought a 5700 XT from them one week ago, And of course I did a bit of research before going YOLO into buying their videocard.

In their website, there are only two videocards available left.
heh, PUBG eating chicken game.
Anyway their website has a lot of grammatical errors which make me think it was simply typed into google translate and pasted there. So did I buy one? Yes, I did. I bought a 5700 XT 8GB at a price of $196.18. as of this writing. The seller is the manufacturer so it's legit that it's their item, They marketed this as brand new and it probably is. I read some articles on reddit about Aisurix and they said the gpu die and memory were refurbished but the PCB is brand new. maybe? maybe not. Does it matter that the gpu die is refurbished though?, no. you see brands like Asus, Gigagbyte, Galax, EVGA and others are board partners, they do not manufacture the gpu die. The gpu die is manufactured by AMD, INTEL, and or NVIDIA respectively. so it doesn't matter if the gpu die refurbished or not as long as it's working, And then the board partners would put that gpu die on their own PCB boards and coolers.

A few days later and the package arrives.

The box is... interesting. GAMING!, 3D MODELING!, HD DISPLAY!, ART DESIGN!, VIDEO CLIP! WHAT THE HELL!

AISURIX GRAPHICS CARD. hmmm.

Atleast there's a sticker indicating that this is indeed a 5700XT 8GB.

"Light up your joyousness." Kek.

Anyway moving on. yes It's legit.

Yay.

Size comparison between the RX 5700 XT and the RX 580.

What and what not to do.

This is going to be straight forward. The RX 5700XT is a 8 + 6 pin card.

DO NOT DAISY CHAIN a pci-e cable. a single cable can only supply up to 150 watts.

It is highly recommended to use two seperate cables connected to the power supply, for safety, make your power supply can support 2 PCIE cables and not make a makeshift one from molex.

meh. sag. sag all the way.

it works, but the temperature reach up to 90C because most of the case fans are out of order.

New fans. Ideally I want both Static Pressure Fans and Air flow Fans, but these will do.

The PROS and CONS.

The PROS: * it's a 5700 XT. * it has 8 GB of ram. * because I no longer use 100% of the GPU, it has reduced heat and power usage compared to the RX 580. * I am ready to play Diablo 4. The CONS: * None. The Neutral: * I hope it works for more than 8 months.

Benchmarks.

The Graphics score is only 8909. I search the internet and it says most 5700XT reach 9400+ points. but here's the thing. this 5700XT is running on stock compared to those on the internet.

Overall Thoughts.

I'm pretty happy with it. it works great. I need to upgrade my cpu. maybe go from ryzen 1700 to ryzen 5700x. we'll see. gonna enjoy playing Godfall which runs great now and BOTW and BOTW 2. CHEERS~
