When the limit between indulgence and physical limits becomes thin

There are a lot of motivational posts here on Hive, on Instagram, on Facebook and on many other social networks.

**But you know what?**

>The most part of them are simple click-baiter made from people that have no idea how to exit their comfort zone.

I am going to share what I have learnt so far in the team-management field, across the Sales team (when doing multi-level Marketing), Sport Teams (being the coach) and becoming the channel for people transformation (as a Yoga teacher).

I will show you how you will not need to listen to their words, but simply observing their actions.

## “The words inspire, while the example pushes”

Look at the people when they setup a goal. It can be an individual or a team-goal. It does not really matter. BUT the one that you put “under observation” have to had accepted the goal as well, and not simply taking passively part to it. Otherwise this test will not be sure and precise.

## So let’s start from a team-goal scenario.

To setup a goal, you need something quantifiable and a deadline. Afterwards the Roadmap has to be established.

In a team, there will always be someone pushing more and someone pushing less or in a different form. There will also be a team-leader or eventually a perfectly democratic decision-taking process.

The first question you should ask yourself is:

> Is the Team Leader leading by the example?

Is the Team Leader just chilling in his position or is he/she the real one that at first do the actions and THEN inspire the rest of the TEAM performing them?”

If the Team Leader does not lead by the example, the rest of the team may be somewhat confused and get angry over time since they will feel more like employees instead of Team-members.

But here is another take-over. If the Team-Member cannot take over the Team-Leader showing that they can get great results without the influence of the Team-Leader they better keep acting (and working) as employees as they are probably not ready to show the long-sight of the Team-Leader or being pragmatic as the results to be achieved.

In the case a Team-Leader is really showing coherence with the goals, how are the Team-Members behaving?

They are surely inspired by the Team-Leader so they will be statistically more likely to perform well. But some of them will do all their best to play just on the minimum threshold that the Team had set-up to reach the Target. Even if they will eventually get more rewards if the Team performs better than the minimum fixed target they will keep acting with an “employee state-of-mind” doing the least that they can, doing their “homeworks” like at school to stay good with their conscience and ok with the Teacher. They simply will not be able to understand that they best they do, the best the rest of the team will perform to relate with their “Inner Fire” and everyone will push it harder. They will keep playing on the Edge between sufficient and not-sufficient, even accepting some penalties when they will drop evidently in the “non-sufficient” area.

Then there will be another category of people, that will show great enthusiasm when fixing the targets, a lot of great words for the coherent Team-leader BUT as soon as the first distractions arrive, they will fall like leaves in autumn under the first breeze. These are the “strong until all good, lost when not all good” people.

And here comes my distinction for these latter people: there are a lot of distractions that may occur in life, unforeseen events. Some of them will be dramatic and will require all the attention while other, will just distract the person from its targets and here comes indulgence.

***Indulgence*** occurs when the person accept to not pursue the daily target because he/she will feel “excused” since another apparently important event is occurring or when their Ego will be fed with some “*façade results*” showing them some apparent step ahead but simply feeding the Ego and not their inner part.

I see many of them, not necessarily young and inexpert but especially from my age and above, getting eventually some apparent appreciation/reward making them feeling appreciated and making them forgetting the small steps to be achieved on a daily base.

## How to overcome these limits?

On an esoteric perspective, the synonym here is the lack of determination and purity, strictly connected to an Energetic Centre in our body. And you will often see these people with abundant and not-tonic belly. Abdominal area is the home-site for our determination, in the area of the Solar Plexus. (If you are skeptical, just give it a try for one month and you will tell me).

On the other hand, you will see them (almost) not reading, and hardly ever looking for acquiring real knowledge for the personal development. Self-growth books, psychological, communication, business books to evolve the mindset and the inner perception.

In the end, make sure that your teammate are really willing to take the necessary action to bring the project to the top and if they act as simple employees, always give them a chance to evolve but never ever overestimate them.

>***Like Brian Tracy said “It’s not possible to extract blood from a turnip” and I add “If a turnip is not really ready and willing to take all the necessary actions to transform itself”.***
